Promotional moving image Sainsbury's Christmas advertisement 2014
The target audience for this film is mostly middle class shopper, especially male middle aged people. This is because Sainsbury's is a company that will mainly appeal  to the middle class and because of all the characters present in the advertisement are males it is likely that this is the main demographic that it is aimed at. Also the majority of characters are young adults so it will be more tailored to these people. It does not demonstrate the the product specifically but instead implies that the chocolate bar present is from Sainsbury's. This chocolate bar is used to show people that no matter where they are they can still share Sainsbury's food. it also says that there product will bring people closer together, no matter the circumstance. At the end of the advertisement the phrase "Christmas is for sharing" appears on screen. This shows that Sainsbury's thinks that people should share what they get at Christmas, also suggesting that they should buy from Sainsbury's to do so, adding to this it implies that they want to "share" their food out with many people so they should come to the store. The mode of adress in this piece is quite friendly as throughout the video the theme seems to be friendship, in any circumstances as two young men from opposite sides of a war become friends. The music playing seems friendly and suggests that there will be a happy ending. It gives no information about the product and does not create hype for it but instead choose's to draw the viewer into the story this advertisment has to tell, which makes it overall more effective because it makes the reader more interested in the product due to this story.
