3B
The opening shot of this scene we see a establishing shot showing a city in a sunny day ( 0:53), which makes it seem like it is a normal day this is because people will normally relate sunshine to happiness and normality so what happens in the clip will be even more shocking . The next shot is an over the shoulder shot of a man in a mask looking out of a window (1:12) just after he smashes it. The mask and gun connotes that he is a villain because if he has a mask he will need a reason to hide his identity indicating to him doing something bad soon. The shot zooming into the mask of the man we soon find out to be the Joker (1:21) shows that this mask will be an important prop in the scene and shows the audience to pay particular attention to this criminal. Also this shows that the man is out of place, as he is in dark clothes and holding a mask in what otherwise seems to be a regular day; this foreshadows that something bad is about to happen. Once the car pulls up (1:29) and the man gets in we see another over the shoulder shot of the man we have just seen and two others in the car. This shot shows that the crime will be done by an organised group as they all have masks of a similar style which connotes a larger force behind what is soon to come. When the three robbers are in the bank (2:10) we see the camera following the gang, making the audience fell like they are part of this crime and it also puts them closer to the action, due to the continuous shot it makes it seem even more real which makes the audience more interested in the movie. Shortly after this we see the two criminals that were on the roof again (2:30). Although it is a mid shot of the front ones face the audience may be focusing on the criminal behind as he appears to be pulling something out of his jacket. The audience may be able to tell that one of the criminals is about to kill the other so they begin to wonder when, building a sense of anticipation until the front criminal is shot. This shows how far they are willing to go to get more money further making the audience dislike them. The close up of a grenade in the civilians hand (3:08) makes the viewer begin to feel like something bad will soon happen to the innocent people and it makes them fear the criminals more. It also may connote the time limit that people have as a grenade will often be linked to a short amount of time till something violent happens. It also shows that this criminal is worse than the rest and makes him stand out, further drawing attention to this certain robber and once again hinting about his true identity. The close up of the robber shoving money into his bag (4:32) is not focused on the robber but instead the money it shows how that is the true point of interest in this scene, connoting a greed that these people have. The image of him letting some money fall off the pile and not caring shows how they easily would have had enough but choose to take more out of greed.
Sound
The non-diegetic backing soundtrack of this scene of this scene is very faced paced, which complements the action as it fits with what is happening. The first part of the backing soundtrack sounds like a siren is going off, this is made to sound like this because a siren is liked to an oncoming danger, implying that there soon will be danger and because it gets louder as the track progresses it seems like the danger is coming closer. The track changes to a more fast paced part as soon as the car pulls up (1:31) and the criminal we learn to be the Joker gets in. This shows that this is when the actual action will start making the audience more exited for what is to come. The dramatic sound of the drums that begin when the two criminals are zip lining (1:38) to the other roof has a sense of danger and seems like a drum roll is happening making it seem like the build up that they have seen throughout the scene is about to pay off. When the robbery starts (2:10) the music stay the same which could imply that crime in this city has become normal, showing the dire state of the city at this time. Most of the diegetic sound present in the scene is the voices of the criminals. All of the criminals voices at first sound fairly normal but when in the bank they become very violent and commanding. This tone of voice is used as the film makers want to show how the criminals are very aggressive and want to control everyone else in the bank. The Joker's voice (first heard at 4:45) is strange and very creepy sounding meaning that people will be afraid of him. This is done because it makes the audience fell scared of this seemingly crazy person.
Editing
At first during the scene there is rather long gaps between cuts which is used so they filmmakers can set up what is soon to happen. As the two criminals in the building begin going out the building (1:38) before cutting the camera looks down, showing the height that they are and how dangerous this is.When the crime begins (2:10) there is very fast cuts between what is happening so people can see everything that is happening. This is especially shown when the bank manger is shooting at the criminals as it is quickly cutting between the manager, the main criminal and the person that is drilling the vault, this added to the music getting louder and quicker creates a exiting theme. Another example of this is when one of the criminals is pointing a gun at the Joker(4:44). The quick cuts between there faces make the audience think of this as a standoff and they can see what each side. Adding to this is shows there reactions to what the other says, giving the audience a show of both the people.
Mise-en-scene
A main feature of this scene is the masks that the robbers are wearing. These clown masks are meant to hide the robbers emotions and as many people are afraid of clowns it is meant to inspire fear in the audience. In addition to the the masks dehumanize these criminals as we cannot see what the criminals facial expression which makes it seems less real also it means that we cannot empathize with them. The low key lighting when the robbers are in the car (1:47) makes it seem like they are just shadows, further dehumanizing them and as the masks are clearly silhouetted it makes them seem not human. Most of the scene is fairly low key lighting which shows the dark tone of the film and foreshadows that something bad will soon happen. The scene appears to be in a wealthy society, shown by the large skyscrapers in the background, the normal seeming city makes the audience feel safer due to the normality which makes the crime seem even worse as they are not only robbing a bank but also upsetting the normality of everyday life that makes people feel safe. The main set of this scene is the bank. The bank appears to be a normal bank and because of this the clowns are obviously highlighted as the villains as they are attacking innocent people.

Promotional moving image Sainsbury's Christmas advertisement 2014
The target audience for this film is mostly middle class shopper, especially male middle aged people. This is because Sainsbury's is a company that will mainly appeal to the middle class and because of all the characters present in the advertisement are males it is likely that this is the main demographic that it is aimed at. Also the majority of characters are young adults so it will be more tailored to these people. It does not demonstrate the the product specifically but instead implies that the chocolate bar present is from Sainsbury's. This chocolate bar is used to show people that no matter where they are they can still share Sainsbury's food. it also says that there product will bring people closer together, no matter the circumstance. At the end of the advertisement the phrase "Christmas is for sharing" appears on screen. This shows that Sainsbury's thinks that people should share what they get at Christmas, also suggesting that they should buy from Sainsbury's to do so, adding to this it implies that they want to "share" their food out with many people so they should come to the store. The mode of adress in this piece is quite friendly as throughout the video the theme seems to be friendship, in any circumstances as two young men from opposite sides of a war become friends. The music playing seems friendly and suggests that there will be a happy ending. It gives no information about the product and does not create hype for it but instead choose's to draw the viewer into the story this advertisment has to tell, which makes it overall more effective because it makes the reader more interested in the product due to this story.

Fictional
Fictional moving image. The Dark Knight opening scene
This scene's target audience is most likely young adult males as due to the large amount of violence and action this demographic would be most likely to enjoy this scene. Also all of the characters focused on are males, once again showing that it is tailored to a male audience. This shares themes with other action movies, for example the opening of the movie being full of excitement and throwing the audience straight into the action. By making the first scene of the movie full of action packed it both excites the audience for what is to come and sets the tone for the rest of the movie. In this scene the do not show any main stars face's for the majority of it and only show Heath Ledger (the Joker) at the end. The masks that are used to hide the faces of the criminals also hide the identity of the criminals, this draws viewers in and makes them want to keep watching so they can find out if famous actors are in the scene. The message that the scene sends is that the Joker is extremely dangerous and evil. This message is shown by how ruthless he is, ordering his henchmen to kill each other throughout the heist and the at the end murdering the bank manager in a extremely brutal way. This shows the audience that the Joker is the main villain of the movie while also making the audience fear the Joker and what he will do if he can pull off a bank heist this well. The story of this scene is resolved during the scene as by the end the heist is over and the Joker escapes but it sets up the plot for the rest of the movie. By having the main villain win in the first scene it carries on the theme of showing how dangerous the Joker is so even though the bank robbery is completed by the end of the scene it sets up the rest of the movie. Throughout the scene a constant theme of betrayal is present because as soon as one of the criminals jobs is done the are killed by another criminal. This theme of betrayal shows how unpredictable the Joker is in the rest of the movie. Adding to this it shows how the city is corrupted by crime as even the bank that was seemingly normal before the heist is actually a mob bank. Due to this the viewers begin to wonder just how terrible this city is and if Batman can actually fix it.
